Weekly Development of Pregnancy ( 30 – 35 Weeks )

Weekly Development of Pregnancy ( 30 – 35 Weeks )

About you;

In these weeks, the expectant mother most longs for some sleep. Weight increases, movements of the baby, frequent visits to the toilet and leg cramps usually mean sleepless nights for the expectant mother. A light dinner, breathing and relaxation exercises, a warm shower, and a massage applied by your spouse on your neck and shoulders with lavender oil along with the music you like may ease you into sleep and help you remain asleep for longer periods at a time at night. You must be careful not to contract a urinary tract infection in this/her period. Urinary tract infection is a condition that triggers labour. For this/her reason you must drink lots of fluids and urinate frequently. You might have gained 8-12 kg on average. The back and lower back pain will increase in intensity. Colostrum, the first milk that your breasts produce may be discharged in this/her period. You can start using breast pads. You may experience contractions from time to time.

The following can be preterm labour signs:
● Contractions that are repeated at regular intervals
● Pinkish discharge from the vagina
● Feeling of intense pressure on the lower abdomen

Under these circumstances, you must contact your doctor and go to the nearest hospital without delay.
You must also be careful regarding sneezing. A sudden sneeze may cause some urine to leak. Your digestive complaints might have escalated in this/her period compared to previous months. You must eat frequently, in small portions, to remedy or mitigate the effects of pregnancy on your digestive system.
Your baby does not have much room left in your womb. She may be moving less. After the 35th week, labour could start any time.

Your baby…

In this/her period, the growth of the baby accelerates, subdermal fatty tissues accumulate at a fast pace, he/she gets taller, the wrinkled appearance of his/her skin smooths out, gains a pinkish hue and becomes supple. The fine hair coating his/her skin falls off. The remaining fine hair on his/her forehead, back and shoulders disappears within 3 months of his/her birth. The nails of your baby now extend to the tip of his/her fingers. In this/her period, the liver development of your baby will also be complete and babies that are born after the 36th week won’t have any breathing problems. Baby’s pee makes up most of the amniotic liquid. The amount of the liquid decreases gradually after the 35th week.

At the end of the 35th week, the baby is approximately 45 cm long and weighs 2-2.5 kg.
